What is changing?
There are two minimum salary levels that employers must meet when sponsoring a worker:
1. Core Skills Income Threshold (CSIT)
Applies to:

Current: $76,515

From July 2026: $79,499
2. Specialist Skills Income Threshold (SSIT)
Applies to:
-
Subclass 482 Specialist Skills stream

Current: $141,210

From July 2026: $146,717
If your employer lodges your nomination on or after 1 July 2026, the new higher salary amount must be met, even if you started preparing your Nomination application earlier.
If your nomination is lodged before 1 July 2026, the current lower salary thresholds will apply.
