CURRENT PASS MARK = 120 POINTS

All applicants must meet the following basic requirements:

· Be under 45 at the time the application is receipted by DIMIA in Adelaide;
· Be of good health and character;
· Speak fluent or vocational English;
· Have recent work experience

And can be awarded points for the following:

Skill:

Applicants whose occupation requires a diploma or advanced diploma and who have two out of three years work experience prior to application. - 40 Points

Or

Applicants in generalist occupations which require a degree and who have two out of three years work experience prior to application. - 50 points

Or

Applicants in specific occupations which require degree (or higher) or trade-level qualifications and who have 12 out of last 18 months work experience. - 60 points

Age:

Aged between 18-29 years - 30 points
Aged between 30-34 years - 25 points
Aged between 35-39 years - 20 points
Aged between 40-44 years - 15 points

English language ability:

Competent English/ English is first language - 20 points

Specific work experience:

· If your nominated occupation is worth 60 points under “Skill” and you have worked in your nominated occupation, or a closely related occupation, for at least three of the four years before you apply. - 10 points

· If your nominated occupation is worth 40, 50 or 60 points under Skill and you have worked in skilled employment for three out of four years prior to application. - 5 points

Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL):

Applicants whose occupation is listed on MODL (Call us to check whether your occupation is on the new broader MODL list) – 15 points

Spouse skills:

Applicants whose spouse also meets the minimum requirement for skills, including work experience, age and language ability. – 5 points

Relatives in Australia:

The applicant or family member has a relative (Parent, Child, Brother, Sister, Aunt, Uncle or First Cousin) in Australia – Possible 15 points

Bonus Points:

Willing to deposit $100,000 in an approved government investment for a minimum period of 12 months – 5 points
